Conception Peter Symonds give their students an option of completing an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) which goes forward to universities, as well as looking good on a CV. I pondered on the thought for awhile before deciding on whether I should do one, and what I would do. The final product of an EPQ can either be a dissertation, investigation or artifact. I thought completing an artifact would not only help me in the future but also stand out. Not long before the the idea had been mentioned to me, I had created some animated introductions for two fellow's YouTube channels, Dom Explores and V.E.N.X. I thought that with this connection, I could possibly have them return the favour and get some interviews. By then I had decided that I had wanted to make a documentary about Urban Exploration. Execution The process of starting the planning began when asking both Dom and Riccardo for a possible interview. To my surprise I had Riccardo almost instantly on board. I thought that his voice would be worth listening too and incorporating in the documentary. As Urban Exploration is quite a controversial activity, I thought it would be necessary to seek the opinion of someone who is more inconspicuous. Riccardo is known for scaling great structures and in the end... being caught, resulting in negative media exposure, something that the other side of the community are not fans of. To seek a wider opinion I found the 28dayslater.com forum, dedicated to Urban Exploration. Here I found various reports of explorations and pictures as well as general chat between participants. I decided to start a thread relating to what the public might think is wrong with the activity. The general consensus, was that social media users who climbed up buildings for clout were destroying that activity and that it has started to be clamped down on. A member even reached out privately about his experienced and I am yet to hear a reply about whether he would be up for an interview. I might've hit the jackpot with an interview with Yvonne King, someone who enjoys Urban Exploration as a hobby I've found some locations that would be appropriate for B-roll footage and for interviews. Ideally I would find someone who would be prepared to be interviewed and take me on an exploration. Current Progress15%
